Lift up a neighbor in need.

Make a meaningful impact for your Brevard neighbors.

For 30 years, Health First has been here — close to home, by your side, caring for Brevard.

Now, you can help us write this next chapter.

On October 15, join us for 30 hours to fuel a future where care is always within reach — for every neighbor, today and for generations to come.

Your gift to the Compassionate Care Fund provides Guardian Angel Grants that extend support beyond hospital walls, helping eligible patients with transportation, prescriptions, medical equipment, and more.

Every dollar makes a difference — and 100% of every donation goes directly to programs that improve lives across our county. No administrative costs, just meaningful results.

Every dollar creates a story worth sharing, read more about the lives you help transform.

Are you a business who wants to bridge the gap for our neighbors in need?

Carrie's story.

“It’s nice to know that there’s still a lot of good people out there who take care of others. They saved my life.” Carrie faced her cancer treatment with courage, discovering strength she didn’t know she had. She came through feeling healthier than she had in years - even laughing that she felt “like Superwoman.”

Carrie knows her recovery was about more than medicine. She credits her care team - doctors, social workers, and donors - for lifting her each step of the way. “They have done so much for me. It’s amazing, and I’ll always be grateful.”

Cheryl's story.

A tragic accident left Cheryl with an amputation, a traumatic brain injury, and PTSD. Living on a fixed income, her mounting medical bills felt impossible to manage. Then, help came through a Guardian Angel Grant from the Compassionate Care Fund — a lifeline that provided both resources and renewed strength to continue her journey.

The grant covered life-saving medication and psychological care, helping Cheryl regain stability and hope. “I am so grateful,” she said. “It gave me the medication, the appointments, and the support I needed. I am better for it.”

Fred's story.

When Fred’s wife was admitted to the William Childs Hospice House, their world was turned upside down. With limited resources, Fred feared he wouldn’t be able to stay by her side during her final days. Then, a Guardian Angel Grant provided the support he needed — ensuring he could remain close when it mattered most.

The grant gave Fred and his wife the gift of time together, bringing peace and comfort in her final moments. “Being there meant everything,” Fred shared. Support to the Compassionate Care Fund makes moments like these possible for families facing the hardest goodbyes.

Teresa's story.

When Teresa was first diagnosed with cancer, her worries stretched beyond her health. How would she make it to appointments? How could she keep a roof over her head? Everything shifted when she received a Guardian Angel Grant — providing stability, relief, and hope during the hardest season of her life.

“The Guardian Angel Grant truly changed my life,” she said. “It gave me access to my doctors and treatments, helped me catch up on rent, and let me focus on healing. Thanks to this support, I’m not just surviving — I’m moving forward.”

Keith's story.

Keith valued his health, having worked as a nurse for more than 40 years. Careful bloodwork revealed prostate cancer — a diagnosis that came as a surprise. Though symptom free, he began radiation five days a week for nine weeks. After walking to his first few appointments, Keith admitted it was too much to manage.

That’s when support made all the difference. Thanks to donor gifts to the Compassionate Care Fund, Keith received a Guardian Angel Grant for daily transportation. The assistance ensured he never missed a treatment, giving him strength and peace of mind. “It was one less burden to carry,” Keith said.

Michelle's story.

Michelle recently received an electric medical chair that transformed her daily life. With greater mobility, she can now navigate her home independently, regaining a sense of freedom many of us take for granted. The gift gave her not only access — but also the strength and confidence to embrace life more fully.

An unexpected blessing has been the impact on her mental health. Michelle feels joy returning, along with hope and love for the life she’s building. “This chair gave me independence,” she said. “And with it, a chance to truly live.” Thanks to the Compassionate Care Fund, her future is brighter.

Your gift can be their hope - join us as a Guardian Angel.

What if you couldn't afford the proper nutrition needed to help build enough strength to begin cancer treatment?

Some of our neighbors fall into what's known as the coverage gap - earning too much to qualify for Medicaid, yet living paycheck to paycheck, unable to afford their medical expenses. The Compassionate Care Fund helps these eligible patients by providing access to stay well, which may help with transportation, prescriptions or medical equipment.

Together, we can uplift our neighbors in need.
