This year I'm fundraising for the long-stay animals in our care. While some of these animals are a little more complicated or challenging for one reason or another, many are simply overlooked. 

Just another large-breed dog in the age range of 2-6. Another adult domestic shorthair cat. But each of these animals is unique, each of them special if you only look a second longer. 

Tank, or Tank-ilocks (in the profile photo) is a 2 year old brindle mixed-breed large dog.

He's been with us since June of this year when he came in as a stray. He blends into the crowd in the shelter, but what you don't see when you pass his kennel is: 

- He's brilliant - he knows sit, down, shake, touch... and even learned crawl! 

- He'll do anything for a snack or a squeaky toy.

- He's not reactive to other dogs (even when they yell at him)

- He's great with kids - he was one of our superstar pups at our first Boot Camp for young teens. They taught him to crawl using a row of chairs!

- He's not overly affectionate, but enjoys hanging with people (known and new). 

Tank isn't the only wonderful companion who's waiting in the shelter for their family. He's just one of the many diamonds in the RUFF. 

Fundraisers like Bark on the Boards make it possible for us to care for these long-stay animals while they wait for the right person or family to come along and see their shine. Help us continue to help these wonderful creatures who deserve a shot!
