God held our son Brooks in His hands and breathed life into him—leading us to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, where Brooks has undergone four open-heart surgeries and countless scans, tests, and procedures. Through every moment, we were surrounded by compassion, skill, and the healing hands of those called to care for the most vulnerable. Among the many amazing care teams, one became especially dear to us: The Child Life Team. This incredible team made the hardest days feel a little lighter. They helped Brooks cope with scary procedures through play, music, art, and distraction. Whether it was bringing him a toy to encourage his first walk after surgery, playing a game during IV placement, or offering music and art therapy sessions—all at no cost—this team made healing possible in the most heartfelt way. The Child Life Team is more than just support. They’re hope, joy, and comfort in the midst of pain. They are vital to helping over 60,000 children each year at St. Joseph’s feel safe, strong, and seen. This July, we're giving back—and we need your help.
