as Bouquet of Flowers

My name is Suzanna Rita Pickering and I work in marketing, media, and event planning here in Knoxville. I graduated from Auburn University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design (don’t worry, I’m a VFL!). I absolutely love fashion and I try to find art in everything I do.

Becoming a member of Junior League of Knoxville (JLK) has introduced me to many wonderful organizations such as Community Coalition Against Human Trafficking (CCAHT). Last year was my first time attending Unmasked; I dressed up and went with some JL friends. We had so much fun! My friends know how much I love making my Halloween costumes every year and they encouraged me to be a part of this year's contest.

Human Trafficking often feels like a problem that is far away but CCAHT has humbly opened my eyes to how close this issue truly is to home. I think Unmasked is a brilliantly beautiful opportunity for me to help make a difference right where I am, doing what I love — fashion design.

I am excited about this year’s competition and I am really looking forward to continuing to work with CCAHT to help spread awareness of human trafficking in our community.
