JOY Programs
JOY International takes a multifaceted approach to comprehensively fight child trafficking through programs that address four crucial pillars: prevention, freedom, healing, and empowerment. Each of JOY International’s programs intentionally addresses one or more of these pillars.
JOY INTERNATIONAL MUKTI HOME IN NEPAL
The JOY International Mukti Home is a safe home for survivors of trafficking under the age of 18 in Nepal. The home provides safe housing, remedial education, counseling, job training, family support, medical care, legal representation, 24-hour security, and lots of love as the residents navigate their journey toward healing.
JOY EMPOWERMENT PROJECT IN UGANDA
JOY’s Empowerment Project in Kasese, Uganda is a program for girls who are most at risk of or are survivors of trafficking and exploitation. The program provides safety, food, clothing, hygiene supplies, medical care, and education to girls who are most at risk of being trafficked or forced into early child marriage.
THE FREEDOM INITIATIVE IN BELIZE AND AROUND THE WORLD
Through The Freedom Initiative, JOY International works to strengthen trafficking prevention, aftercare, and investigative rescue teams through training trips, missions teams, and ongoing mentorship support. Our missions teams go to support current work being done by partners to prevent trafficking, and our training teams actively work to support the staff of aftercare homes, children’s homes, prevention programs, and investigative rescue teams through trainings and retreats.
EDUCATION AND AWARENESS IN THE UNITED STATES
The JOY International staff speaks across the United States to educate youth and adults about Human Trafficking. Speaking topics often include understanding the dynamics of Human Trafficking, how young people can protect themselves from it, and how others can get involved in fighting it. JOY International also produced the 6:8 Freedom Project, a free online curriculum for children and teens to learn about trafficking around the world in an engage, age-appropriate format.
