Hi, my name is Abraham Unutoa. My mom tells the story that at a very young age, she had me in swimming lessons. I was repeating the same lesson over for the third time when a water polo coach happened to walk by and suggested I try water polo. The coach said I had a natural talent to tread water. My parents knew nothing about the sport but said let's give it a try. From the very first day, I could tread water for a long time (this is called the eggbeater), and I loved it. This is how my journey began, and my love for the sport has continued to grow. I have now been playing water polo for 7 years, and after making it through several tryouts, I have been selected to attend the NTSC, the National Training Selection Camp in California. I'm so excited to represent the mountain zone in my 14U age category. I’m excited to have the opportunity to learn from the top USA players and coaches, and I look forward to bringing what I learn back home and, passing it along to younger players, and helping spread the passion for water polo in Utah like that first Coach, Kathryn did for me.
