Aloha, my name is Leihiwa McElheny and I’m from Haleʻiwa, Oʻahu. I’m 15 years old and this is my freshman year in high school at Mid-Pacific Institute. I’m honored to be invited to this year’s USA Water Polo National Team Selection Camp and would love your help! This selection means a big deal to me because it identifies me as one of the top waterpolo athletes in the nation for my age group! This is my first year of being selected for NTSC. I have been attending ODP Nationals for the last 3 years and I am extremely proud of myself for the work I have put in to represent Hawaiʻi at this point in my waterpolo career. Waterpolo is a huge part of my life and I would like to continue playing in college. There are not many opportunities for high level waterpolo in Hawaiʻi, so this is a great opportunity for me to grow as athlete. Ahead of attending NTSC April 25-27, I’ve pledged to raise at least $1,425 to support the Olympic Development Program. USA Water Polo receives no government funding or funding from the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. This program is only possible with donor support.
