In 2018 I was days away from being in my best friends wedding, when suddenly something didn't feel right. I was 35 weeks pregnant and I knew something was off. I ended up being put on bed rest until my baby was born. Later that same week, I was back in the hospital with contractions and high blood pressure. I was sent home with a 24 hour urine analysis kit. I turned it in on a Sunday and first thing Monday morning, I woke up to a nurse frantically

calling me telling me to get to the hospital right away. I had over 7,000 proteins in my urine and my blood pressure was seizure level high. I was induced right away. I labored for 30 hours total until I was on the verge of a stroke. That's when I was taken for surgery. I don't remember the birth of my oldest child. But I thank God everyday that she is here and that I recovered. Because I know that isn't everyone's story. Not only am I a survivor, but 2 of my sisters are as well. I walk because I am able and that is a gift I won't ever take for granted again.
