Walking for HELLP Awareness – In Honor of Survival and Hope
I survived HELLP syndrome — now I walk to raise awareness, fund research, and honor every mom and baby affected by this life-threatening condition.
Why I Walk
I walk for every mother who didn’t see it coming. I walk because I’m one of the lucky ones — I survived HELLP syndrome. Many don’t.
HELLP nearly ended my life. It struck during what should’ve been a joyful time, turning it into an emergency I’ll never forget. I faced liver failure, dangerously high blood pressure, and the fear that I might never come home to my children. The trauma still lingers. I walk because that trauma needs a voice.
I walk for awareness. So more families learn the signs before it’s too late.
I walk for research. Because early detection and better care save lives.
I walk for the mothers who are no longer with us. For the babies who came too soon. For the families shattered by a diagnosis they’d never heard of.
I walk so that one day, HELLP syndrome won’t be a mystery — it’ll be a thing of the past.
