Why I Walk

I walk for Juliette Mae. I walk to help fund research for a pregnancy complication that I wish no mom or family ever has to experience.

I was diagnosed with preeclampsia with severe features and HELLP syndrome at 23 weeks pregnancy with Juliette. My blood pressure was very high, my liver enzymes were rising and my platelets were dropping. I was met with a life-threatening diagnosis and the only way to save me was to make the heart wrenching decision to deliver our daughter early at 23 weeks.

I pray that one day, we will know the cause and find a cure or treatment to such a scary pregnancy complication.
