At Tru Physio, we care about the health and safety of every mom and baby in our community. Our founder, Dr. Jordan, knows firsthand how quickly pregnancy complications can arise, because she’s lived it herself.

With her second pregnancy, Dr. Jordan experienced high blood pressure toward the end, but no interventions were needed. After delivery, her PCP helped her adopt the DASH diet and healthier lifestyle habits. With these changes, her blood pressure naturally came down, and she felt empowered by taking control of her health.

During her third pregnancy, considered high-risk due to her history of high blood pressure and advanced maternal age, Dr. Jordan was placed on daily aspirin. Toward the end, her blood pressure began to rise again, and her care team decided to induce her five days early to prevent complications. She delivered a healthy baby boy and left the hospital with a “perfect” blood pressure of 110/70, but the story didn’t end there.

Eight days postpartum, she experienced exhaustion, swelling, and a mild headache. Initially dismissing it as normal postpartum fatigue, she checked her blood pressure, and it was 193/118. She was admitted immediately, started on a magnesium sulfate drip. Alone in the hospital, nurses brought in a breast pump to make her more comfortable, but it was heartbreaking to pump for a baby who was at home, not in her arms. 

Through careful monitoring, support from her care team, and time, Dr. Jordan was able to wean off all medications and fully recover. That experience reminded her that preeclampsia doesn’t always end with delivery. It can strike when you least expect it and remains one of the leading causes of maternal death worldwide.

Dr. Jordan walks to raise awareness, support research, and advocate for education and prevention, so that more moms and babies can have safe outcomes.

This year, Tru Physio has set a goal to raise $500 for the Preeclampsia Foundation. Every donation makes a difference in saving lives and supporting families in our community.
