Brent P. Broussard, a Lafayette, Louisiana native, briefly lived in Baton Rouge before returning to his hometown roots. He completed his studies in Music and Criminal Justice from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2012. In 2022, Brent launched The Broussard Enterprise Group, LLC, a business development and management firm that oversees two ventures: Beads by Brentley, a handcrafted jewelry brand, and the Acadiana Vanguard Institute for Youth Development (AVIYD), a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth ages 10–18 through life skills training, financial literacy, mental health education, college preparation, and mentoring. His entrepreneurial work has been recognized by the UL LEED Center and 1Acadiana as a minority-owned business making a meaningful community impact. Brent is a certified Life and Entrepreneurship Coach through the Transformation Academy and an active civic and professional leader. He is a founding member of the NHS Viking Alumni Association and currently serves as Vice President of Programming for the 100 Black Men of Greater Lafayette, Inc., where he also contributes to the Executive Board, Education Committee, and Building Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana and is a member of the Lafayette Parish School System Superintendent Advisory Panel (2025–26) as well as the Louisiana Small Business Development Center’s Peer-to-Peer Roundtable cohort (2025–26). A graduate of the Leadership Institute of Acadiana’s Leadership Lafayette Class XXXVI, Brent has been featured in Canvas Rebel and International Kreol Magazine for his entrepreneurial journey and dedication to community advancement.
