Support My Fundraising Efforts!!

Support me as I challenge myself to raise awareness and educate teens about depression. I first became passionate about mental health support in my job as a neonatologist (physician who takes care of babies in the ICU) where I saw families in distress with anxiety and depression. Some of my research interests are in mental health support. As a mother of 3 growing boys, I have realized that mental health support and identification of depression and anxiety in children is also lacking in schools. Teaching people to recognize signs and symptoms of depression is very important - and I worry that funding for this will become more and more limited. Thus, I decided to dedicate my miles to team resilience.

Erika's Lighthouse is determined to make sure no young person feels alone in their depression. We are dedicated to creating a community of empathy and education. We create middle school and high school teen depression awareness programs so educators and teens can create safe spaces to learn about depression, letting students know they are never alone, and there is somewhere to turn.
