This weekend, I'll be walking in the Wellness House Walk to raise funds for resources that support cancer patients from diagnosis through the rest of their life journey. I'm walking in honor of my incredibly resilient cancer survivorship patients at UI Health, and in memory of my amazing, in so many ways, mother, whom we lost to ovarian cancer - diagnosed only when it was already widely metastatic- presenting with non-specific and no abdominal symptoms until it was too late. I'm also walking for my dad, who is in remission from his prostate cancer, and my father-in-law, who is bravely battling late-stage prostate cancer. 

Wellness House provides so many support services for patients on their journey, at every step of the way. Whether you have cancer or you are caring for a friend or family member who is diagnosed with cancer, all are welcome at Wellness House. More than 520 programs are provided each month to support cancer patients and their caregivers along this journey. Services are offered both online and in person, and are focused on improving physical and emotional well-being and giving people with cancer a support network like no other. 

Because of the Walk, and the generous donations of individuals and businesses, everything at Wellness House is provided free of charge, providing one less thing to worry about when struggling with a cancer. That's why I have joined the Walk and why I ask you to join me in giving what you can to support people in the fight for their lives.
