I've participated in the Parkinson's Walk for the last two years. I've met my fundraising goal each year, yet still, I have failed.
Two years ago, we got lost during the walk and ended up in an entirely different park. Last year, we got dropped off at a farmer's market, and by the time we found our way to where the walk was, it had already ended. I know it's not a race, but I've still finished last two years in a row. This year will be different.
I will not get lost. I will not show up at the wrong place again. I will start the walk, and I will finish the walk, and I will win the walk. Yes, it's not actually a race, and yes, everyone has Parkinson's, so it's really, really slow, but I will still win. I will speed walk. I will cheat. I will do whatever it takes.
So please share this with anyone you can: your friends, your enemies, your co-workers, your boss, your boss's boss, your local elected representative and/or comptroller, your family, your in-laws, your exes, and especially the McLaren F1 racing team. Let them know I just want to drive the car for a little bit. I don't want to race it. I just want to drive it just a little bit. Let me just take one lap slow, no more than 50 miles an hour,. Just one lap, Lando. Let me do this, Lando. I won't mess up your car, I promise. I will need help getting it in and out, though. I don't think I can do that on my own.
Please share this far and wide. Let's raise some money to find a for a cure of Parkinson's. I was diagnosed with three years ago, I think, and my three-year review is that it stinks. Zero out of ten. Would not recommend. So let's raise some money to fight this disease. I promise I won't lose the walk this time.
