I was 18 when Jack was born and I have so many great memories of that year, which included holding that little baby till my arms fell off. I was in college when Jack was diagnosed with autism, and I vividly remember what a challenging time it was for our family. One of the ways we navigated some of the challenges was the help we received from The Arc. In 2013, Jack had attended Summer Camp for awhile, but we found out that I could apply to be his DSP. Getting paid to do one of my favorite things?? Yes, sign me up! Little did I know this would start one of the biggest journeys of my life. I love what I do and I love what "we" do at The Arc, and it's because it's such a vital help to families just like ours who are navigating this world for the very first time.
