Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease which causes chronic hardening and tightening of the skin and connective tissues. It’s extremely rare and mostly affects women past the age of 50. 

There is a long list of symptoms, medications, doctors, and support systems needed to manage the disease effectively. 

There is no cure but therapies work tirelessly to ease symptoms and slow the progression.  

I've personally been battling this chronic illness for a decade. I struggle through Raynaud's, inflammatory arthiritis, GERD, extreme fatigue, and weight loss. I take over a dozen medications daily and will be adding on infusions later this year. I've also endured multiple surgeries due to complications of scleroderma. I'm one of the lucky patients to have an incredible team of doctors and an unmatched support system. I wouldn't be alive without them.
