Name of your favorite teacher and what made the person special to you (any grade level, including college): Dr. Flora Dees (Ms. Randall at the time) played a pivotal role in my life because she genuinely cared and believed in my potential. Her guidance, support and discipline - though the discipline I came
to appreciate much later - made a lasting impact. I have the deepest love and respect for her.
What were some of your most enjoyable times in school (any grade level): Science classes, Year book staff, Flag team, playing softball, attending football and basketball games, socializing with friends.
Looking back over the years, what advice would you give to your high school self or college self: Try new things, don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone , don’t rush the process and that it will all work out.
The reason(s) you are raising funds to support Project GRAD Akron ’s scholarships and programs: As a product of the Buchtel cluster and a proud graduate of Akron Public Schools this cause is deeply personal to me. The potential and talent that lives within the students of our community is immeasurable. Project GRAD Akron walks alongside to help these young people, breaking down barriers and opening doors to higher education and brighter futures through various programs.
