Hi everyone!  On Saturday September 5th, I will be participating in the Bleeding Disorders Walk to support the bleeding disorders community in the Rochester region. All proceeds from this event go directly to supporting patient programs and services throughout the year.

HEMOPHILIA CARE and BLEEDING DISORDERS CARE

Founded in 1959 by Rochester native Mary Gooley, the Center is currently celebrating 60 years of service to the area bleeding disorders community. It is the only Hemophilia Treatment Center in the Rochester region, and also treats patients with von Willebrand disease and other rare bleeding disorders. 

Over the years, we have seen amazing advances in medical technology transform severe bleeding disorders from devastating diseases causing severe disability and hardship to conditions that have become very manageable with the right treatments and medications. However, there is still a long way to go. Hemophilia is one of the most expensive medical conditions to treat and patients with bleeding disorders still face many obstacles to care.

WHAT MAKES THE MARY M. GOOLEY CENTER SPECIAL

The Mary M. Gooley Hemophilia Center has gained national attention because of its comprehensive care model that includes education, advocacy, counseling, life assistance, home care training and health counseling. The Center also participates in several national research endeavors aimed at improving the lives of people with bleeding disorders.
