Why It Matters?
The Range of Motion Project (ROMP) is a nonprofit organization working to end immobility for people with limb loss who lack access to prosthetic care. Today, millions of people worldwide are left immobile by an amputation simply because they do not have access to prosthetic care, and ROMP is committed to changing that reality.
ROMP operates the largest prosthetic rehabilitation programs in Guatemala and Ecuador, delivering whole‑person, community‑based care and reaching remote regions through mobile clinics. Their model is powered by a circular supply chain in which 95% of prosthetic components are recycled from clinics across the United States.
Our Mission
This year, we're setting an ambitious goal: to fund 100 prosthetic limbs for ROMP patients in 2026 by climbing our mountains.
The ROMP Adventure Project
This year, I’m launching The ROMP Adventure Project: a collection of 25 human-powered adventures across Ecuador, Southeast Asia & the USA. The goal is to raise awareness about and funds for ROMP's lifechanging work, and enjoy as much time as possible our in nature with friends and family.
These adventures span four core themes:
- Exploration - seeking out new routes and lesser-traveled places
Endurance - pushing distance, time, and physical limits
Multisport - combining disciplines like cycling, climbing, and running
Community - creating space for others, especially friends and family, to explore nature
Some of these challenges are already defined, while others are intentionally left open - allowing for spontaneity and the unexpected opportunities that make time in the mountains so rewarding.
The goal is simple: complete as many of these 25 adventures as possible over the course of the year, culminating in our Climbing for ROMP Team attempt on Cotopaxi this October.
I am setting a target to raise $10,000 this year for ROMP. For each adventure completed, I will personally donate $500 toward this goal.
I invite anyone who would like to support to contribute on a per-adventure basis or donate directly to the campaign. Together we can make a big dent in ROMP’s patient waitlist of over 1,000 people (and growing).
