I’ve been an Oncology Counselor at the Dempsey Center since 2021. It’s a career I’m incredibly passionate about, and I feel lucky to do this work every day.
The Dempsey Center provides a huge relief for people navigating cancer. We help manage the physical, emotional, and social side effects of a diagnosis at no cost to our clients. Because we don't charge or deal with insurance, our clients can focus entirely on their well-being.
The catch is that because our services are free, we rely on fundraising to keep our doors open. While Patrick Dempsey is an active founder and board member, we are still a small nonprofit with fewer than 40 employees. We truly depend on community support to keep our staff employed and our services available.
