I’m running this half marathon as part of Team Fired Up in support of the Dragon Master Initiative because I believe in backing work that makes a real, measurable difference. Their focus on advancing cancer research and supporting families facing incredibly difficult circumstances is something I respect and want to stand behind.
As a parent of two, I’m more aware than ever of how fragile life can feel when health is uncertain. It’s impossible not to think about what families go through when someone they love is fighting cancer, and how important it is that they have hope, resources, and people in their corner.
Training for this race has required consistency, discipline, and mental toughness. Being part of Team Fired Up has added another layer of motivation, reminding me that this effort is bigger than any one person. I wanted this challenge to mean more than just finishing a race.
Running with Team Fired Up is my way of contributing, raising awareness, and helping move cancer research forward so more families can have better outcomes in the future.
