Molly has always had a passion for running and anything remotely sporty… and I’m mostly just here for moral support (and snacks at the finish line).

When we realised our Disney holiday just so happened to line up with the RunDisney 5K, we were absolutely over the moon—because what’s a relaxing holiday without willingly running 5K, right?

Somehow, we’ve been lucky enough to secure running bibs through Team Fired Up (still not entirely sure how Molly convinced them I’d survive it).

So why Team Fired Up? Well, like so many families, cancer has touched ours more than we’d ever like. We’ve lost our beloved Liz to a brain tumour, and we’ve said goodbye to grandparents taken by bladder and prostate cancer. We’ve seen the tough side too—the hair lost, the strength tested, and the battles fought.

But through it all, we keep going. We run (some of us more enthusiastically than others), we remember, and we hope—for better treatments, better outcomes, and one day, a cure.

That’s exactly what Team Fired Up is working towards—funding innovative, data-led research and using AI to push things forward. They’re investing in the future so that more families get to keep their loved ones a little longer.
