When I moved away to college, I felt incredibly lonely. Everything was new, and it was hard to find my place. Then I found Canine Companions and my first puppy, Carrot. Suddenly, I wasn't alone anymore. Not only did I have the sweetest pup by my side, but I also became part of an amazing community of volunteers who shared the same passion and purpose.
As much as I loved the snuggles, the companionship, and watching Carrot grow, the greatest reward was knowing that one day she could change someone's life. Carrot has now moved on to professional training, and I'm so proud of everything she has accomplished.
Now I'm raising my second future service dog, Tennyson III. He goes everywhere with me, from my hometown of San Diego to classes at the University of San Francisco, sorority events, and just about everywhere in between. Every day with Tennyson reminds me why I started this journey. Raising these puppies has given me a sense of purpose and shown me how powerful the human-animal bond can be.
I'm participating in DogFest Bay Area 2026 because I believe every person who could benefit from a service dog deserves the opportunity to have one. Canine Companions provides expertly trained service dogs to adults, children, and veterans with disabilities completely free of charge, and the impact these dogs have on their partners' lives is truly life-changing.
Leading up to DogFest Bay Area 2026, I'm raising money to support Canine Companions' mission. Every donation, no matter the size, helps provide more expertly trained service dogs to the people who need them most. If you're able, I'd be so grateful for your support. Thank you for helping me make a difference, one puppy at a time!
