DogFest North Central 2026

Hello everyone!

My name is Bryce McNabb and I am partnering with canine companions through Dog Fest to try and raise money for their organization. Canine Companions will get veterans suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and other disabilities, as well as children and adults with disabilities service dogs completely free of charge. Seeing first hand through my years of training dogs what these dogs are capable of has opened an entire new perspective to what these great animals are truly capable of.

As an 8 year US army veteran, I have struggled with mental health from early adulthood now into my late 20s. That being said I am still of able body. My goal is to run a 50k (31 mile) trail ultra marathon in Brown County Indiana on May 16th. In doing so I would like to raise money at the same time to help canine companions get veterans and other people alike the blessing of one of their service dogs.

I will be doing this race in honor of the friends I have lost in the service to suicide. As well as my dog Max, who was just diagnosed with cancer on the 7th of this month. Being a veteran and having a shadow like max for the last 7 years has saved my life. I know first that getting someone else struggling with a disability or mental health a service dog will completely change their life as well.
