Eros—A Hero with Four Paws
Join Us in Changing Lives Through Canine Companions
If there’s one word to describe Eros, our daughter Zoey’s Canine Companions service dog, it’s hero.
Eros came into Zoey’s life in 2022, bringing hope, joy, and possibilities we once thought were out of reach. Zoey has a rare genetic disorder that makes communication and independence challenging—but Eros has transformed her world in ways we never imagined.
Because of Eros, Zoey is finding her voice.
She’s gaining confidence, building independence, and discovering a sense of purpose. What once felt overwhelming—daily tasks, social interactions, navigating the world—has become possible with Eros by her side. He retrieves items, opens doors, and provides calm during difficult moments. But more than that, he gives Zoey courage.
Today, Zoey walks farther, participates in school and Special Olympics, and connects with others in ways that simply weren’t possible before. Eros isn’t just helping Zoey live—he’s helping her thrive.
And our story is just one of many.
Service dogs from Canine Companions are provided at no cost to families like ours—but each dog represents a significant investment in training, care, and dedication. These life-changing partnerships are only possible because of generous supporters like you.
That’s why we’re inviting you to be part of something truly meaningful.
? Join us in supporting The Southwest Region Canine Companions DogFest 2026
Culminating celebration: September 19, 2026
Your support—whether through a donation, sharing our story, or attending DogFest—helps provide expertly trained service dogs to children, adults, and veterans with disabilities.
Because of donors like you:
• A child or adult gains independence
• A family finds hope
• A life is forever changed
Inspired by Eros, our family began raising a future service dog—because we’ve seen firsthand how powerful this mission is. We know that every contribution, big or small, helps create another story like Zoey’s.
? Please consider making a donation today and following our journey throughout the year as we work toward DogFest 2026.
Together, we can give more individuals the life-changing gift of a service dog—and the chance to discover their own four-pawed hero.
With gratitude,
Kara
