As many of you know, my dogs from Canine Companions have brought tremendous joy and independence to me. I'm participating in the annual DogFest Washington DC 2026 fundraiser because I want to help other people with disabilities life-changing partner, and hope you will consider making a donation of any size..

Canine Companions provides expertly trained service dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities FREE of charge, thanks to so many amazing volunteers and donors.  For 50 years, Canine Companions has been breeding their own dogs specifically for this job. The staff at the seven locations are unparalleled in training these dogs and matching them with the right handler.

Sajen was my first Canine Companions dog. He took me from elementary school to college, even attending prom and high school graduation with me. Then came Shelly, who helped me through college and onward. Now I have Gabe, a handsome partner who keeps me laughing and never feeling aloner. They have all been dfferent, but all have been perfect for me. I could not be more grateful.
