My name is Corey Hart, and one of the biggest things I’ve learned over the years is how important community is — especially for young people trying to find their confidence, direction, and purpose. Recently, I joined a tutoring program dedicated to helping kids grow both academically and personally. I originally joined because I wanted to give back to my community, but the experience quickly became much more meaningful to me than I expected. Spending time with these students has reminded me how impactful guidance, patience, and encouragement can be. Sometimes all a young person needs is someone who believes in them, listens to them, and pushes them to see their potential. Growing up in Washington, DC, I’ve seen firsthand how much influence positive environments and mentorship can have on a kid’s future. Not every child has access to the support, resources, or opportunities they deserve, which is why programs like this matter so much. As someone passionate about storytelling, creativity, and community, being part of this program feels bigger than tutoring. It’s about helping build confidence, creating opportunities, and investing in the next generation before they begin to doubt themselves or their future. I’m currently raising money to help support the program and the students involved. Donations will go toward educational resources, program activities, supplies, student support initiatives, and creating experiences that continue to encourage growth and learning.
