As part of The Fortieth Year, I'm celebrating this milestone birthday by supporting the 2026 Little Lights Giving Day, a cause that is making a real difference in Washington, DC.

For more than 30 years, Little Lights Urban Ministries has come alongside children, teens, and young adults through mentoring, academic support, and college and career readiness programs—helping students build bright futures long after they leave elementary school. Across the street from me, so literally in my neighborhood, their new community center, the Jubilee Center, in Ward 7 is expanding that impact and creating even more opportunities for local families.

For my birthday, I'm asking that 40 of my friends and family consider giving $20 (or more!) to support this incredible work. If you're able, please cover the processing fees so that 100% of your gift can go directly toward serving students and families.
