I don’t realize the burden of grief is still there until Davie comes home and says “I”m the only person without a dad in my class” or hugs the race car game at the arcade this summer, the one that he and his dad played on three years ago. Jeff’s Place has provided Davie with an outlet to express his sadness, but also allows him to see that there are other kids just like him, kids who have lost a parent. When Davie proudly introduces the picture of him and Dave at the opening candle light ceremony, it gives him the opportunity to still proudly show off his dad & embrace the memories he has. If you’re looking to donate this season, please consider Jeff’s Place. It has been a lifesaver for my family, a place that has become so important to too many children.
