Hello! My name is Maria Lohmann. I am from Pittsburgh, PA and work as a pediatric dietitian at the Children's Hospital. I am the youngest of four girls and love to run, bike, and spend time with family and friends enjoying the outdoors. This is my third year as a Biking for Babies missionary and my first year as a team leader!
I was first drawn to be a Biking for Babies missionary because it served as a way I could live out my faith and my pro-life beliefs while challenging myself in a new way. I feel called to continue my work as a B4B missionary and team leader because every life has immeasurable worth and we are each called to live our life in a way that reflects dignity of every human life, created in the image and likeness of God. I have been transformed by love through Biking for Babies and I hope to support and encourage others through the love I have for them. This mission has opened my eyes to the beauty of sacrificial love, redemptive suffering, and helped me to grow in humility, faith, and trust. Through the experiences I have been fortunate to have with the pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) we partner with, I have come to a greater understanding of the vital work of PRCs in making it possible for women to choose life. Biking for Babies has given me the opportunity to respond to God's call to participate in the renewal of the culture of life through love and sacrifice.
