Support My Journey to Team USA – and Beyond

I’ve been selected to participate in USA Water Polo’s Olympic Development Program (ODP) and the 2026 National Team Selection Camp (NTSC). This opportunity brings me closer to my goal of competing at the highest level—and representing Team USA.

My Story

Water polo has become a huge part of my life. I started playing water polo around the age of 9. When I started playing water polo I could have never imagined myself at the place I am now. I got into water polo as a part of my physical rehabilitation for a sub-dislocation of my patella and a partial tear of the MCL in my knee. I was in physical therapy and swimming was something the physical therapist suggested would help.  I was not looking to find another sport. I had already been playing tennis for 5 years, but I quickly started to fall in love with being in the water. During a swim lesson, my coach at the time noticed something in me and suggested I try water polo. I will always be grateful to her for starting my journey.

I quickly started to get even more competetive with water polo and what was a hobby quickly became something that is now my passion and something that I am actually pretty good at. But with any journey, I have had people tell me that I can't do things or that my team didn't need me or that other players were better. But I am grateful that I never listened to them. I think our experiences shape our lives, and those experiences have shaped me into the strong resilient person I am today.

Through water polo I have traveled the country, and I hope water polo can take me around the world too. I am so grateful for the people I have met along the way. Through them I've learned how to work harder than I ever thought possible. Whether it's sprinting for a short interval, wearing a weight belt during practice until I feel like my legs might fall off, or driving over an hour to club practice, I never quit. Water polo is my passion and it has taken me so many places. But this is just the begining.

Why I Love Water Polo

I love water polo because it brings me so much joy. I love everything about the sport of water polo. I love all of my teamates, old or new, and I love all the places water polo has taken me. I enjoy the day to day practices, weekend club games, and ODP. I look forward to every bit of it. I've been asked what is my favorite sound or feeling in the world, and for the past 4 years the answer has been the same. The sound and feeling of the ball hitting my palm when I block a shot and the feeling of my elbow straining to hold the power of the shot. It's the most satisfying thing in the world. But that isn't the only thing I love. I love the water polo community. A couple of month's ago I had one of my first games with my new club, South Coast. There was a shootout and my coach trusted me enough to not only be the goalie but also be a shooter. I blocked every shot except for one, and going into the last shot (my shot) the shootout was tied 1 to 1. If I made the last shot the game was won and we would get 3rd place. I made the shot and my teamates all sprung off the walls of the pool and were all over me in the pool celebrating, hugging me, laughing, and smiling. That was an incredible moment for me. It was a moment where I felt like I truly belonged. I am so grateful that I get to feel that way while doing something I love.
