My Water Polo Origin Story

I have been playing water polo for nearly five years. I got started playing after trying lots of other sports including soccer and baseball. I didn't like these sports because living in Southern California, I got too hot everytime I would play. I started playing water polo because my parents told me that, "it's always the same temperature in the pool." I instantly fell in love.    

I Love Water Polo

I love water polo because it is a constant challenge, not just just from competitors but also from pushing myself. I play center defender. It is my identity as a water polo player. I love the constant battling of the position. It is technical, mental, and a test of physical strength. I always want to win and fight hard on every play.

I also love water polo because of the community. I have met some of my closest friends through the sport. Through ODP, I have also met and played with some of my fiercest competitors, who are now my friends.  I have also had the great fortune of meeting mentors and coaches who have helped me grow both in and out of the pool.     

Your Support Matters

The same way I work hard on every play in the pool, I am also working hard to improve and reach my goals out of the pool. Part of this journey is gathering support to help fund training, coaching, and development opportunities for myself and other players. Any support means a lot and helps make these opportunities possible.

My Journey Ahead

This fundraising page will be live for the 2026 ODP season, including NTSC and future Pipeline experiences.  If I work hard enough, prove my potential, and am selected for additional training camps or international competitions, I’ll continue using this page to update my journey as I work toward additional goals.
