My Story

My name is Mark Minasian, and I have been playing water polo since I was 10 years old with San Diego Shores Water Polo Club. From the moment I first jumped into the pool, I fell in love with the sport. Water polo quickly became more than just a game to me, it became a huge part of my life.

Over the years, San Diego Shores coach Dan, Chad, Ian and Doug helped shape me not only as an athlete, but also as a person. The coaches and my teammates have taught me discipline, resilience, teamwork, and how to push myself beyond my limits. Every practice and every game has been an opportunity to grow and learn important life lessons that I will carry with me far beyond the pool.

Today, I continue to train and compete with the goal of becoming the best athlete and teammate I can be. Water polo has given me so much, and I am incredibly grateful for the journey so far.

Why I Love Water Polo

Water polo is one of the toughest and most exciting sports in the world. It requires strength, endurance, strategy, and teamwork. What I love most about water polo is that every player must trust and support each other in order to succeed.

I love the challenge of pushing myself physically and mentally every day. Whether it’s a difficult practice, a tough game, or a big tournament, water polo teaches me how to stay focused, work hard, and never give up.

But beyond the competition, water polo has given me friendships and experiences that I will always value. Being part of a team that works toward a common goal is something truly special, and it motivates me to keep improving and striving for excellence.

Why Your Support Matters

I have been given an incredible opportunity to participate in the NTSC (National Team Selection Camp), where athletes are evaluated for selection to the USA Water Polo National Team pipeline.

Participating in this event is an important step toward achieving my dream of one day representing the United States in international competition. The camp allows athletes like me to train and compete alongside some of the best players in the country while learning from elite coaches.

Travel, training, and participation costs can add up quickly, which is why I am asking for support from my community, friends, and family.

Your support will help make it possible for me to attend this camp and continue pursuing my goal of representing Team USA. Every contribution, big or small, means a great deal to me and helps bring me one step closer to that dream.
