Halle's Story

Water polo has become a large part of my identity. I started competing when I was 8yrs old. Both my Mom and Dad were All American water polo players in college at UC Irvine.  Since my Dad was coaching at UCI (and my Mom at Back Bay Water Polo) I've basically been going to the pool since I was born. 

My little sister Haddie has played in 10u Junior Olympics for 5 years, and she's now 11yrs old.  My Uncle Bobby played at UCI and my Auntie Belle played at Canyon High School.  My Uncle Doug played at Newport Harbor and Corona del Mar High Schools.  My Abacee, Mimi, Poppa, and Pops are all a large part of my story! We are a water polo family.  My story is really OUR story. 

My new step that I've come to this year is playing at Corona del Mar Water Polo Club, and my Dad coaching Corona del Mar High School girls water polo.  This is an exciting step to my story as it has led me to success in the ODP.  Through the sport, I’ve learned discipline, teamwork, and how to push myself every day to improve.  I've also learned how important school is.  I've visited all the colleges my Dad would compete against when he coached college.  It's a major goal of mine to get to one of those colleges.  Water polo is the first thing I've done to learn to set goals.  I’ve built incredible friendships and grown both in and out of the pool – and I’m excited to continue that journey at the next level. My story is really just beginning, and I'm hoping your generousity can help add many chapters to my book.  

Why Halle Loves Water Polo

I love water polo because it helps me create a strong and healthy version of myself! I love to train, work hard, and especially to be around my teammates to share a special bond.  I love the energy of gameday and the excitement that is shared with my teammates!  The most satisfying feeling I get is to shut-down the other teams best player, even if I'm not as big as her.  When I was 8yrs old I loved just jumping in the chilly pool and having fun.  I still feel like that today, at 13yrs old, but it feels satisfying to know that I am contributing to do my specific job.  I guard 2meters (which guards the other teams strongest and toughest player), and I am an outside shooter. I feel like water polo is something that I was born to do.  Winning the ODP Zone Championship was especially motivating to be a part of a team with the best athletes in the country in our age group. I really admire those teammates and aspire to learn from them in the years to come.

What's Ahead For Halle

This page will stay with me throughout the 2026 ODP season, including NTSC and future Pipeline experiences.  If I’m selected for additional training camps or international competitions, I’ll continue updating my journey here as I work toward the next level. I am very excited to say the least!!
