My Story

My name is Helene Petko, and I’m 13 years old. I play on the Hawaiʻi Development Team, and water polo is one of my biggest passions. It has taught me how to work hard, stay dedicated, and be a good teammate. My teammates and their families feel like a second family to me—they always support me in and out of the pool. I’m really excited to keep growing and see how far I can go in water polo!

Why I Love Water Polo

I love water polo because it’s a team sport and it pushes me to do my best every day. It helps me become stronger, more confident, and a better teammate. I’ve learned that if you work hard and don’t give up, you can achieve a lot.

Looking Ahead

I’ll be using this page throughout the 2026 ODP season, including NTSC and other Pipeline events. If I get the chance to go to more training camps or even international competitions, I’ll keep sharing updates here as I keep working toward my goals.
