I’m running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon as a BellRunner for The Bell Center—and this one is personal.

One of my earliest memories is volunteering at a water stop for a half marathon supporting The Bell Center. Now, years later, I’ve come back through Kiwanis Reads and have seen firsthand the impact they make. It’s a place that sticks with you.

The Bell Center is dedicated to helping children from birth to age three who are at risk for developmental delay. Their work is truly unique:

• The only transdisciplinary, center-based early intervention program in Alabama
• Every child is supported by a full team of therapists and educators
• Enrollment has grown over 100% in the last 5 years
• They serve children with a wide range of needs across 16 Alabama counties

Most importantly, they’re changing lives during the most critical years of development. Especially for my Bell Buddy Barrett, see him in the slides below.
