My daughter Cora was born on January 1, 2026 at 1 lb. 15 oz. She was born exactly 48 hours after I developed preeclampsia with severe features. She spent 59 days in the NICU. Today, she is almost 3 months old and *just about* 6 pounds.
Because of preeclampsia, I didn't get to see my daughter for 12 hours after her birth. I didn't get to hold her for 72 hours. I didn't get to feed her for five weeks. I didn't get to take her outside to breathe fresh air for eight weeks. My husband and I had to leave her at the hospital 56 times before we got to take her home.
We don't know a lot about preeclampsia. Please consider donating so that we can work on expanding our knowledge and increasing research on the disease. Maybe bringing more awareness to preeclampsia can help prevent future cardiovascular risks in moms, preterm deliveries, and birth traumas.
