Why I Walk
Having chronic hypertension before pregnancy, I was well aware of the signs of preeclampsia to look out for. I took my medication and checked my blood pressure daily. My blood pressure was perfect until week 37 and it rose dangerously high. This was my ONLY symptom. I had a bad feeling so I went to the hospital. By the time I got to L&D, it was at a stroke level. Still no other symptoms and perfect labs. My baby was here 24hrs later. Had I not been checking, I wouldn't have known! I want to spead awareness that preeclampsia can come on fast and present differently. Staying vigilant and trusting your gut can save your life!
