Why I Walk

I was diagnosed with preeclampsia with severe features at my 33 week appointment and from that point, I experienced one of the craziest weeks of my life. 

In that week, I went through the mag-drip twice - The first when I was admitted, the second when I was induced. I was taking three different blood pressure medications. I had my blood pressure taken so often, the sound of it going off is engraved in my head. My arms were bruised all over from the blood draws. Many medical professionals stopped by to talk to me about what happens next. Lastly, my son was born at 33 weeks and 4 days via emergency c-section.

I walk because preeclampsia happened to me and even though it made the journey traumatizing, it's part of the birth story that ended with my beautiful baby boy entering the world.
