My journey with preeclampsia began in 2018, when what should have been one of the most joyful seasons of my life became a life-changing experience. During my pregnancy, I developed severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome, resulting in the premature delivery of my daughter, Gracie, at approximately 33 weeks and beginning our journey through the NICU.

That experience changed the way I viewed pregnancy, maternal health, and the importance of women knowing the warning signs and advocating for themselves.

Years later, I faced preeclampsia again this time postpartum. Experiencing a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy twice reinforced something I now carry into my advocacy: delivery does not always mean the danger is over. Mothers need education, support, and continued attention during pregnancy and throughout the postpartum period.

My story did not end with preeclampsia. It gave me a reason to speak.
