I’m thrilled to be participating in a fundraiser supporting the Reach Out and Read program of the Indiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (INAAP). I’m passionate about this cause and need your help. I was fortunate to be read to frequently as a child and was surrounded by books and these books were windows, doors and mirrors for me.  I loved to read and still do and want all children to have this opportunity.  Books allow families to slow down, create positive childhood experiences and build brain health.  My pediatric practice has participated in Reach Out and Read for a very long time and it has grown thanks to support from INAAP.  We can order books in many different languages, reflecting many different families and give them out to patients between 6 mo to 5yo at each of their well child visits.  It is one of the highlights of my day when I can walk in with a book and see the huge smile on a child's face and see them open it and continue to smile.
