In May 2023, after having hip pain for 9 months, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. I was completely shocked as were my family. I thought I had a pulled muscle and had no other syptoms. My husband and I had just retired after selling our business and thought we were set to enjoy our new grandchildren and travel. I never smoked and was always active and thought I was the healthy one! Had I have just had a CT or even a chest Xray, they might have caught it earlier.
My story doesn't end there though:
Today, 3 years later I am blessed to have good quality of life while being treated and I will continue to pray for a cure to be found! In the meantime my team works hard to keep the cancer from progressing and lots of new treatments are being found thanks to your generous donations! I continue to be amazed at the generousity and love shown to me by all the friends and family who support me in so many ways. We continue to do this walk in the spirit of faith knowing others are remembered who have gone before us and hopefully fewer will come after as treatments continue to improve with your donations.
