Nico was a sweet, loving, and joyful little boy whose life changed unexpectedly when he became ill during a trip to my home country, Colombia. Just one week later, we received the devastating diagnosis of medulloblastoma, a type of brain cancer.

At just three years old, Nico became our teacher and our greatest example of strength, courage, and perseverance. Although he did not survive his battle with cancer, his beautiful spirit continues to touch countless lives. Through his journey, he became—and continues to be—an agent of hope for children diagnosed with cancer and their families.

B.I.G. LOVE holds a very special place in our hearts. During our five-month hospital stay, this incredible organization brought smiles to Nico’s face through toys and helped me feel a little more at home by providing a weekly Walmart shopping list. These thoughtful acts of kindness made a difficult journey a little brighter, and we will always be grateful for the love and support they showed our family.
