Together Toward a Cure

Join the Seattle Walk for Pulmonary Fibrosis!

My husband, Rick, the light and energy of any room he walked in to, was diagnosed in 2010 with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 62. We'd never heard of the disease until then and were stunned when his first pulmonologist told him he had 2-4 years to live and there was nothing to be done. We learned from the 2nd pulmonologist that there were things Rick could try, such as pulmonary rehab, clinical trials, and a drug that might slow the progression of the disease. For 6 years, Rick did remarkably well, living his life with much joy and meaning, until one day his oxygen level plummeted.  He died a week later at the age of 68.

In the 10 years since his death, research continues in an effort to find a cure for pulmonary fibrosis, and I continue to fundraise for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF).  I would greatly appreciate you joining me in supporting this vital cause by registering to walk with me on September 26th and/or by donating to my fundraising efforts.

The Seattle Walk for Pulmonary Fibrosis supports the PFF's efforts to accelerate research, empower the community, and transform care so that everyone with pulmonary fibrosis can live a better life. For more information on how your gift will make a difference in the lives of PF patients and their families, please visit pulmonaryfibrosis.org.

I am very grateful for your support. Thank you!!
