I'm Running My First Marathon for The Legal Aid Society
Each of your contributions support your New York neighbors and fuel my crazy goal of training for the marathon on a whim!
150 Years of Justice in Every Borough
By the time I decided to run the marathon this year, I had never run more than 3 miles in my life. On November 1st, I'll be running 26.2 miles.
Last year, I was doing full-time work and school along with a part-time job. This year, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to run theNew York City Marathon with Team LAS. I am proud to say I've gone 20 miles strong, fueled by your support and my love for an organization I deeply admire.
This year, The Legal Aid Society celebrates 150 years of support for New Yorkers in almost every area of law across all 5 boroughs. Legal Aid's dedicated advocates have transformed the landscape of New York through individual representation, community outreach, policy work, and class-action litigation. Legal Aid continues to create long-lasting systemic change while ensuring New Yorkers' rights to justice and equitable access.
I've had the priviledge of working in the Homeless Rights Projectfor almost two years now where I can see firsthand the impact that LAS has on clients' lives and preserving NYC's right to shelter. Through Legal Aid, I am able to help clients navigate shelter issues and ultimately secure permanent housing. You can be a part of this mission.
Your dollar contributions go directly to helping your fellow New Yorkers. No amount is too small (donations can start at $1)!
Please donate and spread the word.
Thank you for supporting my journey, I couldn't do it without you!
