Running has been a part of my life since I was little. I have run for my middle and high school cross-country teams, and running has become more than just a hobby. Those years of training and competing in races have built a passion that has only been growing. I have run numerous half marathons and one full marathon previously, and the New York City Marathon has been a dream of mine for years. I am thrilled to run for Filling in the Blanks and make every mile count. This amazing organization hits close to home, given that I have spent the majority of my life in Fairfield County. Knowing that children in my own community are going to school hungry after minimal food on weekends is something that I cannot ignore. Filling in the Blanks works to solve exactly that problem, filling the gaps between school breakfast/lunch and time at home. Food insecurity is a large problem in Fairfield County, and Filling in the Blanks is making a difference in the community. Training for a marathon may be challenging, but showing up to school hungry is harder. I'd be incredibly grateful for any contribution you can make, no matter the size, to help me reach my fundraising goal before race day. Together, we can make this race mean more than the finish line.
