I’m incredibly honoured to share that I’ve been selected to join the 2026 Texas 4000 Team. Over the next year, I’ll be preparing to ride my bike from Austin, Texas, to Anchorage, Alaska — over 4,000 miles in 70 days — in support of cancer research, awareness, and patient support. Like many on this journey, my life has been profoundly affected by cancer. In 2022, my grandmother passed away from a rare and complex form of cancer, and in 2023, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and now is thankfully in remission. These two remarkable women, who have deeply influenced my life, received exceptional care in Houston, Texas — care that was supported by initiatives like Texas 4000.

My Story

I discovered cycling thanks to my father,  who first introduced me to this beautiful sport. I’m from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, where I began riding and competing in mountain biking, becoming state champion at ages 15 and 16. In 2017, I transitioned to road cycling when I joined the Midwestern State University Cycling Team in Wichita Falls, Texas, eventually becoming a scholarship rider. Now, as a Master’s and PhD student at The University of Texas at Austin, I’ve had the privilege to continue racing with the Texas Triathlon and Cycling Team, proudly representing my beautiful Bolivia and the Texas Longhorns. As a lifelong cyclist, Texas 4000’s mission allows me to merge my love for the sport with my desire to make a meaningful impact. I’m blessed with the ability to move, to train, and to choose — because even that choice is a gift. However, many do not have this freedom. I ride not only for myself, but for those who cannot. This will be the biggest challenge I’ve ever taken on — both as a cyclist and as an individual and my goal is to raise $7,500 to support this mission. Every contribution no matter how big or small will help my journey and I — from my heart to the finish line.

Es un gran honor para mí anunciar que he sido seleccionada para formar parte de Texas 4000 en el año 2026. Durante este próximo año, me voy a preparar para ir en bici desde Austin, Texas hasta Anchorage, Alaska – más  de 6.400 kilómetros en 70 días – en solidaridad con la investigación, la concientización, y el apoyo a pacientes de cáncer. 

Como muchos en esta misión, a lo largo de mi vida presencié cómo esta enfermedad afectó a muchos familiares y amigos. En el 2022, mi abuelita falleció de un cáncer complejo y agresivo, y en el 2023, a mi mamá le diagnosticaron cáncer de mama, quien afortunadamente se encuentra en remisión hoy en día. Estas dos mujeres extraordinarias, quienes han influido muchísimo en mi vida, recibieron una atención excepcional en Houston, Texas – atención que cuenta con el apoyo de iniciativas como Texas 4000. 

Mi Historia

Soy ciclista gracias a mi papá, quien desde muy chica me introdujo a este bello deporte. Nací en Santa Cruz, Bolivia, donde comencé a montar y competir en el ciclismo de montaña, logrando el título de campeona departamental a los 15 y 16 años. En el 2017, hice la transición al ciclismo de ruta cuando me uní al Midwestern State University Cycling Team en Wichita Falls, Texas, logrando así convertirme en ciclista becada. Ahora, como estudiante de maestría y doctorado en la Universidad de Texas en Austin, he tenido el privilegio de continuar compitiendo con el equipo de Texas Triathlon and Cycling, representando con orgullo a mi hermosa Bolivia y a los Texas Longhorns. Como ciclista de toda la vida, la misión de Texas 4000 me permite juntar mi amor por el ciclismo y contribuir a una causa noble. Estoy agradecida por tener la habilidad de entrenar y poder elegir – ya que la elección en sí es una bendición. Sin embargo, muchos no tienen esta libertad. Pedaleo no sólo por mí, sino por aquellos que no pueden hacerlo. Este va a ser el mayor reto y compromiso que me he propuesto, como ciclista y como individuo, y mi objetivo es recaudar $7.500 dólares para apoyar esta misión. Cada contribución, no importa lo grande o pequeña que sea, va a ayudarme a cumplir este desafío, y les agradezco infinitamente por su ayuda – de mi corazón hasta la meta.
