Please support my marathon for Erika's Lighthouse

I am so excited to be running my first marathon with Erika's Lighthouse! Running the Chicago Marathon has always been a goal of mine, and I am so lucky to have the opportunity to do it with a charity that is personal to me. I first learned about Erika's Lighthouse in high school through their depression education and suicide awareness classroom discussion. Having experienced childhood depression myself, I felt as if this program helped de-stigmatize depression and increase mental health awareness among my peers. I know firsthand how isolating depression is and how impactful intervention can be. My experience fueled my future career aspirations, and I am now pursuing a doctorate in psychology with an emphasis in children and adolescents. Through my doctoral training so far, I am able to better recognize that early education in depression and suicide awareness can contribute to ensuring that no student has to navigate their mental health journey alone. Erika’s Lighthouse is a non-profit organization that believes that every student should have the knowledge and tools they need to care for their mental health.
