Spinal Cerebellar Ataxia Type 3 is a genetically inherited disease in the brain that runs in my family and there are no available targeted medicines or treatments. This is a rare disease, and drug development is especially difficult due to the biological complexity and challenges associated with clinical trials. The National Ataxia Foundation invests in research and programs aimed at addressing these key bottlenecks that will ultimately enable successful drug development – for Ataxia type 3 and all other forms of ataxia.
